Let me start out by saying that my husband and I made it a point to open up a college tuition savings account for each of our children when we found out we were expecting. Now, before you laugh at how absurdly prepared that may seem, just know that some months we don’t even add to it. We both want our kids to receive a solid college education. If our kids decide to do something else, like plumbing or HVAC work, which is more than acceptable in my book, then that money is going toward a European vacation. (I’m not so sure I want them to go to school now…) And at the way the economy is looking, we might even have to put that saved money toward our current expenses and xp home security system!
Anyways back to the costs of a college education, obviously we are saving for the total tuition, but I came across something that I just had to share with you other parents. It is this infographic about the hidden costs of going off to college. Some of it is quite funny, but the more I thought about it, it is all true. My head is still spinning from all of the numbers.
